Have you ever heard of Edestin protein? No?
I’m not surprised. It seems to be a well kept secret. But it could change your life in many ways.
The truth is that it’s an incredibly healthy food for humans, arguable the best food that exists on the planet for humans to eat.
But we have never been told this, and it hasn’t been studied much because of the unfair association with other plants in the cannabis family.
Even though cannabis plants are legal in many countries, there is still only patchy knowledge about hemp in the literature and works at large. Most only know hemp used to be used to make cloth, particularly sailcloth.
Let me help set the record straight, because the Edestin protein is a gamechanger, and something every Mom needs to know.
What is Edestin protein?
Edestin is the protein found in the inner part of the hemp seed. The hemp seed is called the hemp heart. It’s whitish (see the photo above).
The green powder called hemp protein powder that you often see in health stores and on some pharmacy aisle shelves is a different protein, albumin, which is found in the husks of the seeds.
Edestin has many distinctive properties, one of which is that this protein is the closest to human protein. This means it is very easily digestible, or ‘bio available’, as nutritionists say.
Believe it or not, not all protein, not even all plant proteins, are as easily digestible as Edestin.
In fact, the protein and calcium in cow milk is not easily digestible feasible by humans at all. We are not baby cows.
The Edestin Protein, with its close resemblance to human protein, means that the human body instinctively knows how to use it in body processes, and can use it as a building block for DNA and DNA repair.
Edestin helps your body rewrite its DNA.
Yes, that’s right: eating Edestin can help your body repair itself, essentially hitting the reboot button for your DNA blueprint.
Many people have found lifelong conditions and diseases disappear after switching to a supernourishing diet that is based on plant based proteins, upping the omega 3s and balancing out onegas 3 ,6 and 9. And Edestin contains a perfect balance of omegas 3,6 and 9, which is unique among all plants in this respect.
there are a number of articles in the academic literature about this, but not many on the consequences of this on the body’s ability to heal itself.
Cindy Amick,Founder of Planethempcafe.com who studied Edestin during her plant nutrition degree studies at Cornell University recently, has uncovered many healing aspects of Edestin protein. She has posted great I formation about this on the Planethempcafe.com site.
I have spoken with her at length about this topic and she was a guest speaker about this at an international Hemp group I belong to.
Cindy Amick’s story is fascinating. Worth reading on her site.
One of Amick’s popular refrains is ‘change your protein, change your life’, based on her own seemingly miraculous recovery from a near fatal case of Lupus and her studies into Edestin after her recovery.
Of particular interest to Moms is that Cindy advocates that after breast milk, babies should be given hemp milk. It is so nutritious and easily digested. There are no known allergies to hemp milk. 🥛

Mothers looking for a natural, no chemical source of food can rejoice.
There are rarely any chemicals used in growing hemp since it is naturally pest resistant and grows so quickly and densely that weeds are choked out, precluding the need for fertilizers or pesticides. It is quite easy to find certified organic sources of hemp seeds.
And compared to the environmentally damaging processes of making other kinds of milk, you can feel guilt free about drinking hemp milk. Growing hemp actually revitalizes depleted soils, rebuilds healthy biomes and re-establishes ecosystems by its deep taproots that create channels for water to penetrate deeply into the soil, helping replenish water tables. The soil is healed and it boosts the local eco systems. The amount of oxygen produced by a field of hemp is incredible. Three times the amount produced by a mature forest grown in a comparable land surface area.
There are no downsides to growing hemp and using it as a major food source. Animals can eat it too. There are many studies underway with explorations about using various forms of help as animal feed amd bedding.
I have written other articles about hemp on Healing Hearts Homestead.info if you are curious to know more about this miraculous plant.
Is it Affordable?
You only need a couple of tablespoons of hemp hearts to fulfill the daily requirement for protein humans need to function well.
This means a little can go a long way. I would not say hemp hearts are cheap, but considering the benefits, it is much cheaper than having unhealthy children who are constantly sick or dealing with moody, low energy kids. Many people spend money on supplements, pills, and medicines that they would not need if they switched to eating Edestin. Many people spend a lot of money every week on meat and dairy that they would not need to spend money on anymore. I believe there would be cost savings and health and emotional benefits that more than balance out the cost of buying hemp hearts.
The milk tastes delicious too, and is easier to make than a lot of plant based milk. There is no need to shell almonds as with almond milk and no need to soak anything overnight as with oat milk.
Simply add hemp hearts to a glass of water and blend like a smoothie. It is ready to use.
The taste of hemp milk is mildly nutty and pleasant.
Another bonus to switching to eating Edestin protein instead of other kinds of protein is that it is so filling. People, myself included, find that eating or drinking Edestin leaves you feeling full for hours. You feel satisfied for long periods of time, Amick explains, because it is such a perfect protein for humans to eat that your body doesn’t need, or crave, anything else.
Imagine the difference it would make in your family life if your children were not asking for more food an hour after the last meal. Or if they didn’t have an energy crash as they often do when ‘sugary’ foods ‘wear off’.
The balanced omegas in Edestin does wonders for helping children regulate their moods and concentrating.
I noticed this in my son and so did he. He started asking for smoothies with Edestin before homelearning because it helped him focus and flipped his mood switch from ‘ contrary’ to ‘cooperative’ within 10 minutes of drinking smoothies with hemp hearts in them.
Edestin Reduces and Eliminates Inflammation
Edestin also boosts overall immune system functioning with its high nutrition profile and natural ability to reduce and eliminate inflammation from the body.
As you may know from research research and the proliferation of ‘anti- inflammation’ diets and cookbooks out there, inflammation has been found to be the root cause of all illness.
Grounding can help reduce inflammation but Edestin gets rid of it. This is another factor that ‘reverses’ illness and disease in the body.
You can keep yourself and your kids happy and healthy with Edestin.
Imagine the relief of knowing you are feeding your kids healthy, super nourishing good that is natural, versatile and tasty to eat as a snack or key ingredient in a plant based meal.
After trying it, I agree with Cindy Amick that if you change your protein, you change your life, and the life of your whole family.
I will be posting more info on Amick’s 21 Day Hemp for Health Diet Protocol soon!
